May is National Disaster Awareness Preparedness Month.  In the month of May everyone has ONE Objective.  Get Prepared for Hurricanes on East Coast and West Coast.  Get Prepared for Tornadoes in the Midwest.  I am the Admiral of Emergency Rapid Response Team and have been doing Search and Rescue for 26 years.  People do not evacuate when told to, people do not seek cover when there are Tornado Warnings, and that is why there is an Emergency Rapid Response Team.

This time, I want one thing this year, EVERYONE to PREPARE!

This is Emergency Rapid Response Team's 23rd Anniversary.  PREPARE!

Admiral Mike Boorda created his Team, Emergency Rapid Response Team and back when created we were only known as Boorda's Team.  He taught us one thing.  PREPARE!

So this year, Emergency Rapid Response Team wants one thing.  PREPARE!  Make sure everyone knows this years slogan, PREPARE!

So now to be PREPARE!  Here is the shopping list which to PREPARE!  26 years when I first started Technology keeps on getting better, be...  PREPARED!

Please use Emergency Rapid Response Team Smile, so we can buy the necessary products for all our Search and Rescue Operations for this Hurricane Season.

The most important piece in being PREPARED!  The Weather Radio, and with today's technology of Smartphones and USB Plug-In Devices.  We recommend the Yellow for when it is night time it is easier to spot.  https://smile.amazon.com/Kaito-Powered-Emergency-Flashlight-Cellphone/dp/B003A21DQA/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1525186094&sr=8-6&keywords=weather%2Bradio&th=1

Flashlight we recommend the LED Maglight, we have been using Maglights for 23 years, personally I have been using Maglights for 30 years and they keep on getting better over the years and I still have my old Maglight.    https://smile.amazon.com/Maglite-LED-3-Cell-Flashlight-Black/dp/B000IXAJVY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1525187689&sr=8-2&keywords=LED+Maglight

First Aid Kits is something necessary in being...  PREPARED!  Something which can help you and your neighbors until Disaster Responders arrive on scene.  You should always be...  PREPARED!  Even if your neighbor is...  PREPARED!  https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B002DQY776/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B002DQY776&pd_rd_wg=kr8hG&pd_rd_r=XSM0E9KKG7KTX24ZCN9R&pd_rd_w=1cT78&smid=A19NVE4G6SOT2C

When it comes to crucial to SARTechs when we start searching for you in debris fields of a Disaster Area.  The best tool to have is a very loud whistle.  We like hearing over 100 decibels, so we know exactly where you are.  Dr Tink, she can go right over to you.  It is all about being...  PREPARED!  https://smile.amazon.com/Safety-Whistle-Weather-Survival-Extremely/dp/B001H8FJIW/ref=pd_rhf_se_s_cp_0_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001H8FJIW&pd_rd_r=9Z3DXA3E52J8VYNZ99FG&pd_rd_w=7iIpA&pd_rd_wg=1snZz&psc=1&refRID=9Z3DXA3E52J8VYNZ99FG

FOR PEOPLE WITH THEIR FUR BABIES!!!  We highly recommend a 60lbs Container.  We have a rule of thumb, every 2 Fur Babies for every 60lbs Container.  https://smile.amazon.com/Vittles-Vault-Stackable-60-Container/dp/B0002H3S5U/ref=lp_3118443011_1_3?srs=3118443011&ie=UTF8&qid=1525189915&sr=8-3

We also recommend a travel container so you can keep the vaults LOCKED in your  vehicle.  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HDORWQK/ref=twister_B0716X6N5B?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

We love water containers 1 container per Fur Baby.  https://smile.amazon.com/Heininger-3059-PortablePET-WaterBoy/dp/B0013ERRSK/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1525190357&sr=8-15&keywords=pet+travel+container

The rest you can get at Home Depot, Lowes, or Walmart.  Since they are small and much needed to be...  PREPARED!

3-5, 5 Gallon Water Jugs.  Do not buy individual water bottles if you drink Soda, Gatorade, Beer, Rum, or Wine.  The bottled water is for washing your body and 2 cases of Bottled Water per Fur Baby.  Hygiene is very important in a Disaster.  So make sure you have soap and shampoo.

20 cases of canned food.  Best thing about canned food it has always been prepared.  So you can eat from the can.  So make sure you have a can opener.  But those that want to cook, we recommend...  https://smile.amazon.com/Coleman-Triton-2-Burner-Propane-Stove/dp/B00VTJGWNU/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1525190944&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=camp+stove&psc=1  Now with ERRT we have 10, but on average we use 5 Propane Tanks.  Get a hose because you will be on limited space during a disaster.

Prescription Medication and Glasses.  Must have during a Disaster.

Fire Extinguisher, do NOT buy online.  Buy Fire Extinguishers by dealers which are trained to inspect and refill them.  Fire Extinguishers are a Life Line in a Disaster because many Fire Trucks cannot get to a Fire in time of a Disaster.

FOR WOMEN: All your sanitary products and get red bags because they are Biohazards.  Keep them in a WATER TIGHT container.  The Fur Baby Containers works will which are Air Tight.

For kids and adults want to keep a journal to write.  If it is raining we recommend.  https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QBB6CO/ref=s9_dcacsd_dcoop_bw_c_x_1_w?th=1

Paper Cups, Paper Plates, Plastic Utensils, Napkins, and Paper Towel keep them in a WATER TIGHT Container.

Duct Tape, Plastic Sheets, and limited tools wrenches and pliers to turn off utilities.

If you are outdoors.  We highly recommend this for a blanket....  https://smile.amazon.com/Primacare-HB-10-Emergency-Thermal-Blanket/dp/B00DZ1NFSK/ref=sr_1_cc_1_a_it?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1525191974&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=emergency+blanket

Only thing you need is a reference guide to Basic First Aid Reference Guide...  If you live in Central Florida you can do our $40 Mobile American Heart Association First Aid/BLS Provider CPR/AED

With clothes plan wisely, make sure you have clothes for a couple weeks.  And, again store them in a WATER TIGHT container.

A month of uniforms.  We carry around 10 per Volunteer.  I personally have 20 in BEAST II our DIRV.

2-3 Chainsaws with 10 gallons of gasoline.  Remember you do not need to be Licensed, Bonded, or have insurance to chainsaw a tree blocking road.  That also goes to citizens.  If you know how to use a chainsaw cut only what is blocking a road.  Do NOT do the sidewalk or go down to the stump, ONLY the portion blocking the road.  You do the stump or sidewalk you NEED to be Licensed, Bonded, and Insured.  Road needs access to Emergency Vehicles.

Bring in coolers for our drinks and food which needs to be cool.  We always need our chocolate to keep our energy boosted and be like Energizer Bunny on NoDoze.

Now you have all those things.  You PASSED you are now...  PREPARED!
